Doug
Palmer & his wife Jan
worked together as sales consultants in the Paraparaumu branch
of Harcourts for 9 years. Recently Jan was "headhunted"
by Metlifecare Kapiti to sell the fabulous villas in the
Kapiti Village and although still involved with the Harcourts
partnership Doug is now mainly on his own.
Doug
has now sold more than 55 million dollars of Kapti Real Estate
and was recently awarded the Harcourts Diamond pin for his efforts.
One
of Doug's real passions in real estate is auctions. He is
a licensed auctioneer and not only does he revel in real estate
auctions he also helps many charities and schools in fund raising
auctions. The Fish Auction fund raiser for Mary Potter has
been hugely successful for many years and recently assisted the
Autistic Society at a post Golf Tournament auction.
The
Harcourts Team MKH franchise includes Palmerston North, Levin,
Otaki , Paraparaumu, Paremata , Whitby , Wellington, Khandallah
, Miramar , Lower Hutt , Upper Hutt and Eastbourne comprising
around 200 salespeople. In that group Doug is regularly placed
in the top 10, an achievement he is very pleased about and realise
all the hard work is definitely worth it.
Doug
has now been joined by an enthusiastic PA, Kim Hargreaves who
is helping Doug with administration now that Jan has left the
day to day real estate work.
Doug
previously came from a teaching
background having taught mathematics for 18 years at Kapiti College.
In that time he was well known for his contribution to
9 school productions and involvement in coaching / managing the
1st XV rugby team. During the 25 years he has lived in Kapiti
he has been the President of the Kapiti Club for the last 9 years
and is an enthusiastic member of the Kapiti Playhouse. He
has recently joined the Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club.
Jan
had previously worked for Harcourts
in Lower Hutt before leaving to run a member of parliament's electorate
for 8 years. She then managed Victim Support in Lower Hutt before
moving to the Kapiti Coast to return to real estate. Jan is very
community focussed, having been a Justice of the Peace for 16
years, an active member of Rotary for 15 years and is still on
the committee of Victim Support. She also delivers Meals-On-Wheels.
